Based on the Richard Speck murders. After his behavior results in rejection from hundreds of women, Warren Stacy begins killing women, always while he is nude, which minimizes any physiological signs. Detective Leo Kessler is convinced about the guilt and, on his partner's objections, plants of Stacy signs to get him behind bars. He threatens to proceed after his family along with Kessler, leaving Kessler to defend himself with assistance from the police, when Stacy is published on a technicality.
