At the start of the 20th century, China is currently in a situation of catastrophe. The country is broken into warring factions, the taxpayers are famished, and recent reforms have left matters worse, not better. The Qing Dynasty, led with a seven-year-old emperor, along with his callous mother, Empress Dowager Longyu is out of touch after 250 decades of unquestioned strength. Huang Xing has lately came back from Japan, where he's studied the craft of modern warfare. He feels he has no choice except to grab the sword when he finds his country falling apart.
