Suzanne Hollander witnessed her mother murdering her father when she was six years old. Today, twenty-five years later, she is a university professor of psychology who lives in constant terror of becoming a criminal like her. The incident occurred on campus when she was teaching a course, and three people were killed as a result of the gunshots. One of his old pupils, with whom she had numerous chats over the years, was the perpetrator of the shooting, and his thesis was on the evaluation of empathy.
