By early 1917, the average life span of a pilot would be less than a fortnight. Such losses place a fearsome breed commanding officer of this squadron, on Gresham. Aces High recreates early days of the Royal Flying Corps with some superbly staged battles, and sensitive direction presents a moving portrayal of this futilities of war.
