Aircraft Carrier Ibuki
The narrative spans twenty-four hours. In the southernmost region of Japan, twenty fishing vessels of unknown nationality fire upon and occupy portions of the Hateruma archipelago. Japanese Coast Guard members are detained. The Japanese government dispatches the aircraft carrier Ibuki and an escort force to the region in response to the increasingly tense situation. Toshiya Niinami (Kuranosuke Sasaki) is the second-in-command aboard the aircraft carrier Ibuki, while Ryota Akitsu (Hidetoshi Nishijima) is the ship's captain. It is currently 6:23 a.m., and Japan will experience a day unlike any other.
