April in Autumn
April returns to Toronto after spending several years traveling and working abroad to assist her sister, Sara, in caring for their ailing mother. Upon April's return, she literally unearths old family secrets that threaten the home's delicate balance. Sara, who is studying the music of French composer Erik Satie, befriends a homeless man Erik who may have a connection to her mother's romantic past, while April is undecided about a marriage proposal from Oscar, a long-distance boyfriend she met on her travels. The story comes to a close on the eve of their mother's birthday dinner, when Oscar unexpectedly arrives from Argentina and Sara's homeless friend shows up.
