Ashes of Time
The story is divided into five sections, each representing one of the twelve months in the Chinese calendar. Chinese martial arts (jianghu) are the setting for this tale. In the western desert, Ouyang Feng has been living for a long time now. When the woman he loved chose to marry his older brother over him, he had to leave his home on White Camel Mountain. Instead of pursuing fame, he finds up working as a talent scout. When individuals come to him with a desire to get rid of someone who has harmed them, he connects them with a swordsman who can perform the job.
