Nicholas Cutler is a brilliant but self-destructive former novelist who is stuck teaching English to iPhone-addicted kids in a working-class high school. After creating a trashy zombie fiction, he piques the interest of publishers, who are prepared to offer him a second shot as long as he can demonstrate that he has cleaned up his act. However, what could have been the happiest week of his life devolves into turmoil, and he is compelled to prioritize others over his selfish ambitions.
