Correspondences
Jorge de Sena was compelled to flee his homeland. He first relocated to Brazil, then to the United States. He didn't return to Portugal after that. He conducted an epistolary correspondence with Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen during his 20-year exile. These letters bear witness to the two poets' deep relationship, wishing to “fill years of distance with hours of conversation”. A dialogue is constructed through snippets and verses, illustrating their differing viewpoints but also their strong link and their efforts to keep it alive.
