On Earth and in outer space, two factions, known as the Alphas and the Rebels, are fighting a brutal war. When a habitable planet is discovered orbiting a star on the other side of a dangerous wormhole, the two sides mysteriously put aside their differences and send a joint mission to explore the planet. The mission of the starship Scylla is soon jeopardized by political intrigue and treachery, jeopardizing not only the mission but also the lives of the entire crew.
