Death of a Gunfighter
Marshal Frank Patch is a traditional lawman in the turn-of-the-century Texas town of Cottownwood Springs. When he kills drunken Luke Mills in self-defense, the town leaders decide it's time for a new beginning. Patch refuses to resign because the town promised him the job for as long as he wanted it when he hired him. Afraid for the future of the town and even more afraid that Marshal Patch knows all of the town's dark secrets, the city fathers decide that old-fashioned violence is the only way to get rid of the unwanted lawman.
