When Walter photographs a sunset in a sensitive region behind the iron curtain of the early 1960s cold war, the Hollander family sparks an international spying incident. To avoid being imprisoned, the Hollanders seek refuge at the American Embassy, which is temporarily led by the absent Ambassador's diplomatically inept son, Axel.
