Subsequent to the elevators at a nyc skyscraper begin inexplicably malfunctioning, setting its passengers in danger, mechanic Mark Newman (James Marshall) and reporter Jennifer Evans (Naomi Watts) begin separate investigations. Newman gets resistance from superiors while a few deaths are caused by elevator events in his companion, which fabricated the elevator.
