LAPD Sgt. Joe Friday -- the evenly straightlaced nephew of the famed authorities sergeant of the identical name -- is paired up with a young, free wheeling detective called Pep Streebeck. After investigating some strange robberies at the local zoo and the theft of some stockpile of magazines they so are hot on the case to work out who is behind all of it and discover cult activity.
