Elevator to the Gallows
The feature-film debut of famed director Louis Malle can be a interesting, contemporary film noir with the traditional theme of lovers plotting to kill both the husband and make it look like suicide (reminiscent of The Postman Always Rings Twice). Jeanne Moreau gives an astonishing performance, innocent although perverse, as she leads her young fan right down a path that can only lead for each of these.
