Empire of Passion
An affair between a young man and an older woman occurs. He is enamored with her spouse and determines that they should assassinate him. They strangle the spouse and dump his body down a well one night after he has drunk a lot of sake and is in bed. She pretends her spouse has gone to Tokyo to work to avoid any suspicions. The wife and her lover have been seeing each other in secret for three years. Finally, suspicions grow so strong that people start gossiping. Worse, her husband's ghost begins to haunt her, and the authorities arrive to investigate her husband's disappearance.
