Bathsheba Everdene has three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak, a sheep farmer who is smitten with her willfulness; Frank Troy, a handsome and reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood, a wealthy and mature bachelor. They all want to marry her. This story about Bathsheba's choices and passions has been around for a long time. It shows how relationships and love work, as well as how people can persevere through hard times.
