Funny Boy
An adaptation of Shyam Selvadurai's 1994 novel Funny Young boy, exploring the awakening of sex-related identification by a young boy named Arjie. As political tensions rise to a boiling point between the minority Tamils and also the majority Sinhalese, a young kid comes of age in a society and family members that does not accept difference beyond societal norms. The film chronicles Arjie's battle to find balance as well as self-love regardless of the absence of compassion and also understanding.
