Think about how much better your life would have been if you'd had a six-foot-tall monster to guide you through the tough times when you were 11! Willy feels apprehensive about the prospect of moving into the family's new home. As far as he can tell, it's crammed full of evil extraterrestrial aliens trying to get him. In response to Willy's plea for help, Gooby comes to life as a lovable, full-size, scraggly, orange, hairy creature that, in reality, appears to be even more terrified of the outside world as Willy. The two have a number of exhilarating adventures and learn a valuable lesson about the importance of friendship. Willy's initial wish is finally fulfilled by Gooby, who brings Willy and his father together in a beautiful and exhilarating climax.
