Heavenquest: A Pilgrim's Progress
Inspired by Samuel Johnson's 1678 novel The Pilgrim's Progress, this novel serves as a sort of precursor to Bunyan's original writings. When a regal man named Vangel is unexpectedly and strangely captured, he is forced to embark on a journey against his choice. After evading the dark king's warriors and becoming injured, Vangel begins to have weird nightmares and images of a mystery woman in white calling him from the uncharted area of the North. Armed with a book titled "The Record of the Ancients" that he obtains from a wise sage named Elder, Vangel sets off on an adventure that will take him through treacherous mountain ranges, endless deserts, the Lake of Doubts, and the Forest of No Return. Along the trip, travelers relate stories about a supposed good king and his son in the North, if he survives.
