Hurricane Streets
Marcus is a youngster growing up on the mean streets of Manhattan. He is 15 years old, his father has passed away, and his mother is in prison for transporting undocumented immigrants. His grandmother is responsible for his upbringing. The four close friends with whom he lives have a subterranean clubhouse where they shoplift and resell the items to children. One is attempting to make a living by selling narcotics. Marcus has expressed an interest in taking a break from the city and visiting family in New Mexico. His encounters with Melena, 14, an endearing young lady who has a fantasy of moving to Alaska; her father is not just overprotective, but also hostile and uncommunicative. Marcus is under intense pressure from the gang to progress to burglary and car theft. He simply desires to be outside in the fresh air. Is there anything that can go wrong?
