Dr. Kildare, a young physician, treats and falls in love with destitute ex-con Janet Healy, the widow of a bank robber who has lost her baby. Later, in a back area of a tavern, she assists Kildare in stitching up gangster Hanlon. Kildare chases Janet and enlists Hanlon's assistance; unsurprisingly, the gangster's solution is brutal.
