Ixcanul
María, a 17-year-old Kaqchikel Maya, deals with her parents on a coffee ranch at the foot of an energetic volcano. She is set to be wed to the ranch's foreman. Yet María longs to find the globe on the other side of the mountain, a place she can not even picture. And so she seduces a coffee-harvester that wants to get away to the U.S.A.. When this male leaves her behind, Marían uncovers her own world and culture anew.
