Joe the King
An impoverished, 14-year-old boy is torn between his mother's violence and his father's, as well as a growing distance from his elder brother. He begins stealing small amounts of food from the diner where he works, but it quickly escalates into more serious thefts until he steals a cash box. However, despite Joe using the money to pay off some of his father's obligations and to replace his mother's documents, Joe receives no appreciation from his family.
