It may sound implausible, yet here we have a documentary that is encouraging about coping with cancer that cannot be operated on. Gordon received his diagnosis eight years ago, and at the same time he started turning to the medium of LGBT comic books in order to deal with his emotions and worries. He gets to the core of the taboos around death and disease by using humor, and he weaves many of the excellent caregivers and nurses he meets into his expressively painted universe. It is a love story set between Edinburgh, Scotland, and Virginia, in the United States, and it is sage, sweet, and invigorating all at the same time. Gordon is someone from whom everyone of us might get valuable insight regarding love, life, and even death.
