Machuca
Santiago, capital of Chile during the Marxist government of president Salvador Allende that is contentious that is elected. Father McEnroe supports his leftist perspectives by introducing a schedule at the esteemed"collegio" (Catholic prep school) St. Patrick to allow free admission of a few proletarian kids. One of them is slum-raised son of the cleaning lady at Gonzalo Infante's liberal-bourgeois home, Pedro Machuca. Yet the new classmates eventually become friends, as Gonzalo gets paradoxically protesting together embraced by gang and Pedro's slum family. However, that is not spoilt by the adults too, perhaps not in the least when general Pinochet's coup ousts Allende, and fans such as McEnroe.
