In a quiet little town in southern France, the mayor, who also owns a castle with some cattle, is in the wine cellar with a few others: the pharmacist, the veterinary, and some of his employees. They are drinking wine when they hear a terrible noise and the temperature rises. They are unaware of what is happening: when they emerge from the cellar, they discover that everything has burned and all the buildings have been destroyed...
