They relocate to a gated, luxury home development where status is everything. With Queen Bee Ffion, who speaks to her daughter in a snobbish manner, Alice is worried about the parents' competition to get their girls into the posh Chelsea college rather than the detested local comprehensive school. In order to be in the thick of things, Sarah McDonald takes a job as a school secretary. Molly, Alice's daughter, scored just 38 per cent on her dummy run entry exam for Chelsea, proving that she has no academic ability. Foreseeing a life of prostitution for her daughter, Alice resolves to mimic Molly and take the exam herself, fearing that her daughter will be forced into prostitution.
