Mayerling
Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria disputes his father's progressive ideas for Austria. Rudolf begins to feel like a man born in the wrong moment in a country that doesn't need social reform. The Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, delivers comedy. Rudolf marries Baroness Maria Vetsera to escape his loveless marriage to Princess Stéphanie. They died mysteriously at Mayerling, the imperial family's hunting retreat.
