Moll Flanders
Young Moll, the daughter of a thief, is left in the care of a nunnery following her mother's execution. However, as a teenager, Moll rebels against an abusive priest and flees to the perilous streets of London. Further disasters force her to accept a prostitute's employment from the devious Mrs. Allworthy. It is there that Moll first meets Hibble, who works as Allworthy's servant but is really concerned about her well-being. She keeps hope for the future with his support, eventually falling in love with an unorthodox artist who offers romantic satisfaction.
