The logical thing for Joey Coyle to do after he finds $1.2 million that fell off an armored car is to take the money and run. People who find things to keep should keep them, right? In the beginning, he asks his ex-girlfriend who works at an investment firm for help and then asks the mob for help with laundering the money. It isn't long before a detective is following Joey around to find the money.
