A Russian circus comes to the United States. A clown is considering defecting but lacks the courage. In the middle of Bloomingdales, his saxophone-playing pal decides to defect. He befriends the black security guard and develops feelings for the Italian immigrant working behind the perfume counter. We follow his journey as he pursues the American dream of being a musician.
