Mudhoney
In this tale, Calef quits from Spooner, Missouri, where he is hired by Lute to get tasks and is traveling from Michigan. Calef becomes a part of Lute's niece. But she's married to Sidney, a drunk who expects to inherit the money of his uncle-in-law. Also an eccentric preacher along with sidney plot against Calef, who finds it tough to conceal his affection for the wife of Sidney and his mysterious past.
