Jacek loves heavy metal and his dog. He bombs down them and converts the country lanes outside his doorway. After he and his girl friend Dagmara take into the dancefloor, everyone else runs for cover. He enjoys his existence also keeps his muscles toned working on a construction site close to the Polish-German boundary. But his life has been thrown off course with a terrible accident. Accompanied with the Polish media, Jacek becomes the first person in the united states to receive a face transplant. He no longer recognises himself in the mirror, although he may be celebrated as a national hero and martyr. Meanwhile, Jesus' statue grows taller and taller. Whilst events round Jacek come thick and fast, the film never loses sight of the bigger picture and brings things into attention.
