Ellen Arden returns home after a shipwreck in which she was assumed dead to discover that her husband Nick has recently remarried. Ellen has been widowed for seven years. As Nick's excitement grows, he struggles to tell his new bride the good news. Ellen had spent those seven years alone on a barren island with another man, which caught him by surprise when he learns the rest of the story.
