Taeko is 27 yrs of age, unmarried, and it's 1982, and it has lived her whole life in Tokyo. She decides to go to her family and also memories flooding back of her years: the Cuban stirrings of romance, the start of puberty, and also the temptations of boys and mathematics as the train travels through night. At the channel she is met by young man Toshio, along with the encounters with him begin to beg her into longings that were forgotten.
