'Painted Woman' is based on Dusty Richards' novel "Mustanger and the Lady." Julie is a lady of her day, a victim of violence and prostitution who ends up at Kyle Allison's feet. Allison, a wealthy Goldfield powerbroker, took little Julie in and made her his trophy. In this life, there was the gift of care and the expense of abuse. Julie is given two chances to escape from Allison, both with very different men... The story of PAINTED WOMAN is divided into two halves, one mirroring the other. In Chapter 1, Julie meets Frank. It is largely told at night in Goldfield. Chap. 2: Mustanger It is set in the wilderness and is largely daytime.
