Natha a poor farmer from Peepli village in the heart of country India will lose his story of land because of an unsettled bank loan. A quick fix to the issue is the a federal government program that aids the family members of indebted farmers that have devoted suicide. As a way of survival Farmer Natha can select to pass away. His bro mores than happy to press him towards this unique 'honour' but Natha hesitates. Regional elections are nearby and also what might have been another undetected occasion becomes a 'cause celebre' with every person desiring a piece of the action.
