Pépé le Moko
Pépé le Moko, one of France's most wanted criminals, has taken up residence in Algiers' Casbah district. If he tries to flee the city, he knows cops will be waiting for him. Pépé falls for Gaby Gould, a beautiful Parisienne stranded in the Casbah. She also reminds him of all the aspects of Paris that he adores. Even though Pépé is aware that Inspector Slimane is following him, he considers a future with Gaby.
