Restoration
An young physician, Robert Merivel saves the life span of someone close and found himself. Merivel lives the high life provided to some his position and joins the King's court. In order to distract the queens suspicions, merivel is ordered to wed his King's mistress. He's given one order by the king which isn't to fall in love. When Merivel finds himself in love with his wife the problem worsens. Eventually, the King relieves Merivel of wealth and his position and realizes. His fall from grace leaves Merivel. And during reunions and his journeys having an old friendhe rediscovers his passion for medicine and what it means to be a physician.
