Romance in Manhattan
Karel Novak is an unbelievably ignorant Czech immigrant who is taken under the wing of streetwise New york city chorus girl Sylvia. With the help of charming cop-on-the-beat Murphy, Sylvia conceals Karel from the immigration authorities as well as eventually falls for him. Along with Karel's illegal-alien standing, the plot is complicated by a crooked lawyer as well as a group of well-meaning welfare workers who seek to position Sylvia's child brother Frank in a foster home.
