In the Blue Note nightclub in Paris, France, in 1959, an elderly, sick jazz musician coaxes an impassioned wail from his tenor saxophone. A young Parisian unable to afford a drink of wine straining to hear these notes from the street. They will soon create a bond that will inspire a final burst of brilliance.
