On board the Rubikon space station, the company soldier Hannah, along with the scientists Gavin and Dimitri, are doing research on an algae project. This project is intended to provide humanity with a steady supply of oxygen and food in the long run. But all of a sudden, the ground under them vanishes into a brown, toxic cloud, and all communication with the outside world ceases; are they the only people left alive on earth? Should they go ahead and start the safe station, or should they risk their lives by attempting the return flight?
