Mercedes (Marga Lopez) dancings for cash with the customers of Hair salon Mexico, a well-known cabaret in Mexico City. Her more youthful sibling Beatriz (Derbez) researches in a pricey private school, paid by Mercedes. Clearly, young Beatriz does not understand about her sis's work. Problems start when Mercedes wins a danzon competition with Paco (Acosta), her pimp. Paco declines to share the prize with Mercedes, so she swipes the cash when he's resting.
