Every one expects the worst, after Custer and the 7th Cavalry are destroyed by Indians. Capt. Nathan Brittles is arranged on patrol but he's also required to shoot along Abby Allshard, wife of the Fort's commanding officer, and her niece, the pretty Olivia Dandridge, who are being evacuated for their safety. Brittles is just a couple of days away from retirement and Olivia has captured the attention of two of the young officers within the business, Lt. Flint Cohill and 2 nd Lt. Ross Pennell. She's taken to wearing a yellow ribbon in her hair, a sign she has a beau from the Cavalry, however, neglects to state for whom she's wearing it.
