Sweeney Killing Sweeney
Sweeney, the "Character King," an aging local standup comic, is offered a spot on a national cable show based in Los Angeles. The only stipulation is that Sweeney remove all locally referenced material from his act, with the most important pieces being the portrayal of his colorful Boston "characters," which have become a staple of his home field success. Sweeney makes the difficult decision to stop playing the roles. To his chagrin, the characters "come to life" and seek vengeance, attempting to murder Sweeney.
