1984: Summer This Texas community near Wichita Falls is preparing for its centennial, 30 years after Duane captained the high school football team and Jacy was homecoming queen. Oil prices are down, banks are failing, and Duane is in debt to the tune of $12 million. His wife Karla is a heavy drinker, his children are perpetually in trouble, and he tom-cats with his friends' wives. Jacy has returned to town following a moderately successful acting career, a stint in Italy, and the death of her kid. The public expects Duane and Jacy to rekindle their high school relationship. And Sonny is "mentally exhausted," which raises concerns about his safety. Can these buddies achieve balance in middle age?
