The Ballad of Narayama
In Kabuki style, the movie tells the story of a mountain village at which the lack of food leads to some voluntary but socially-enforced policy in which family relations carry family members to die. Granny Orin is currently approaching 70, content to embrace her fate. Her eldest son Tatsuhei cannot tolerate losing his mother as she arranges his marriage into your widow his era. Her grandson Kesa, who's girl friend is selfishly pleased to see Orin expire. A family of thieves are dealt with badly, and an old man 70, whose son has cast out him, scrounges for food. Can spirit and Orin's adoring teach and ennoble her loved ones?
