The Choice of Hercules
In1972, when radicals from Japan's Red Army kidnapped a woman in the resort town of Karuizawa, Nagano, Officer Atsuyuki Sassa was tasked with defusing the situation. However, the assignment presented some difficulties. When Sassa arrived in hilly Nagano, she faced severe winter temperatures, conflicting opinions between the Tokyo Metropolitan Police and the Nagano Prefectural Police, and public opinion in order to get access to the lodge where the single woman was being held captive.
