The Crowned Fish Tavern
Maria, the daughter of Captain Palmer, is a victim of mistreatment at the hands of her husband, the cynical Leo, who resides with the lovely Sylvia. Palmer comes up with the brilliant plan to defeat his son-in-law of reuniting Sylvia with Pierre, the man she first loved, and doing so in the presence of the latter. Leo exacts his vengeance on Palmer by causing him a great deal of trouble, and Palmer, in an effort to exact his own, responds by inciting a battle in which Leo ultimately loses his life. It would appear that everything is pointing in the direction of Pierre, yet...
